ACES has worked with acoustical engineers to design several cost-effective and attractive products to help any noisy kennel or shelter reduce its sound level. Introducing sound-absorbing surfaces will absorb high levels of reverberating noise but that will not absorb moisture, odors, or disease organisms.
The more sound-absorbing surface area you can install, the greater your results. A typical dog kennel will exceed 115 decibels meaning no employee can remain in that area more than 15 minutes a day, per OSHA standards.
ACES' goal is to approximately cut your noise level in half — typically down to around 60 decibels. Our goal can be achieved in most kennel and shelter areas though the results and the cost of achieving them will vary. Some improvement will always be realized.
Note: Our PVC and Sailcloth Hanging Baffles, as well as our Lapendary Banners, are available in the following colors: red, yellow, royal blue, green, teal, tan, violet, gray, white, and black. Please specify.
NRC ratings: 1.25 PVC and 1.35 Sailcloth

How To Hang Your Baffles:
Each room is different but some general principles can apply: Try to have baffles hanging in at least two different directions — perpendicular to each other — to capture all bouncing sound waves. Picture how sound reverberates in your room, and hang baffles to interfere with as much of it as possible. Try to hang a baffle over each dog run front gate. Be sure hanging baffles are not accessible to dogs. Do not block lighting or ventilation flow. Baffles can be hung from hooks, cables, or ties.
PVC or Sailcloth?
Our PVC covering is economical but is more easily damaged by animals, equipment, etc. It is suitable for all installations where it will be protected (generally up high and out of reach).
Our Sailcloth covering is an exceptionally tough woven nylon fabric that sheds water and holds up to all assaults except sharp objects. It is also somewhat brighter and more professional-looking. We recommend it for lower and more visible applications.
Please note: All Sound Panels are custom manufactured and therefore are non-returnable. If you need help when deciding what to order please contact one of our customer service representatives at 800-338-ACES(2237).
