Pneu-Dart Darting Equipment

Pneu-Dart (pronounced new-dart) offers the broadest range of American-made chemical capture equipment. They have high quality projectors with cartridge, CO2, or air-fire options. Their disposable darts eliminate cleaning and are the simplest darts to use of any on the market. Pneu-Dart projectors have a 13mm barrel and accept only Pneu-Dart darts. Pneu-Dart projectors are also the most economical available with the quality demanded by animal care and control and other professionals. Unless you are adding to an existing system, we recommend buying your Pneu-Dart equipment in a full kit to be sure you have everything you need.

CO2 & Air Projectors

CO2 and air rifles and pistols are excellent lower-power delivery systems for shorter range requirements — up to 35 meters — such as most animal control situations in urbanized areas and animals in more confined circumstances. Each projector has a Power Control Valve to adjust the dart muzzle velocity. All take type 'P' darts.

The American-made X-Caliber by Pneudart is sturdily constructed of machined aluminum with an elements-resistant satin finish, the X-Caliber will deliver both 11mm (with optional barrel insert) and 13mm darts accurately. Complete with 3x9 scope and aluminum gun case. Operates on 12g CO2 cartridges or included rechargeable CO2 cylinder. Pressure guage located for easy use while you're aiming. An exceptionally high quality piece of equipment.

Cartridge-Fired Projectors

These employ .22 blank cartridges to propel the dart. Four different .22 loads plus pressure control valves on each projector permit a wide range of muzzle velocities for up to 90 meters. Not recommended for short-range use or on smaller (under 40lbs) animals.

Pneu-Dart Disposable Darts

Two styles for different types of projectors. Type 'P' are for use in Pneumatic (CO2, Air, Blo-Jectors) projectors and Type 'C' are designed for Cartridge-Fired projectors.

The needle length you need is determined by the size and coat density of your target animal. Examples: 3/4" is fine for smooth-coated dogs under 40lbs., 1" for most medium-sized dogs, and 1 1/4' for larger or heavily coated dogs.

The volume capacity of your darts is determined by the amount of drug you need for each size animal. Always use the most concentrated form of yourdrug and the smallest dart volume so you will have the least traumatic impact on your target animal. Pneu-Dart darts must be filled completely with liquid so if you need 2.5ml of drug, you must use a 3cc dart and fill the remaining space with 1/2ml of water.

Poly Darts - Pneu-Dart has fortified its plastic dart body by transitioning over to clear polycarbonate resin. Equipped with a color coded polypropylene type "C" or type "P" tail, the new PolyCarb dart is ballistically equal and structurally superior. (Poly dart only available in .5cc - 1.5cc darts)

When ordering darts specify:

Needle length 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", or 2"
Size of Dart
Type of retaining device – gel, barb, or none(Darts of 1.5cc and larger come with gel collar)
Whether flight stabilizers are required (Assures proper fit in otherbrands of projectors, such as Palmer Cap-Chur)

"Bear Scare" Dart

Uniquely designed, the Bear Scare dart is ideal for "scaring" off unwanted animals. A 1.5cc dart, scored along the sides, milled and tapped with a screw, it blows apart upon impact without harming the animal. (Pyrodex Powder not included.) These darts are a humane alternative to destroying bears that get too habituated to humans.

R-1000 Telemetry Receiver
